Some of you are probably using or have at least seen some of the personalized homepages available on the net such as PageFlakes, Netvibes, Google Personalized Homepage etc., or maybe some of the desktop widgets applications like Google Desktop, Yahoo Widgets Engine (formerly Konfabulator) and the Mac OS X Dashboard Widgets.
A few months ago Nokia has come up with a concept called WidSets.
WidSets are very similar to the desktop widgets in the above mentioned programs, but are essentially identical to the sections in personal homepages.
Most WidSets are simply RSS feeds you can read via the WidSets application. I’ve registered to the site, downloaded the application and installed it into the Wireless Toolkit, and I have to say it’s a very nice concept.
At first there were many synchronization problems, because the application gets all the information from the WidSets server, so whenever you add or remove WidSets (via a web interface on your browser, not your phone) the application has to be synchronized and get the information on the added WidSets, but after a few tries and a restart of the MIDlet I finally got all the WidSets I registered for.
